But while a positive attitude is essential for success and scriptural (Proverbs 23:7), we cannot create our own reality. Byrne’s teaching is not a new secret. Many religions, such as Hinduism and New Age, teach this. If we could create our own reality through our mind – we would be god. Why would we have to die? The truth is – there is only one God and that one God is not you or me!

What does the Word of God reveal about the secret?

First – “THE SECRET OF THE LORD is with those who fear Him and He will show them His covenant” (Psalm 25:14). The secret of the Lord is for those who respect and reverence His holiness and who receive His New Covenant. “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds, who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, . . . when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:1-4 NKJV).

Second – HIS SECRET IS WITH THE RIGHTEOUS. “For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright” (Proverbs 3:32 NKJV). God shares His wonderful inheritance with those who are made right with God through faith in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. (Colossians 1:12-14).

Third – THE SECRECT PLACE of God’s presence is available for those who trust Him, live in communion with Him, and keep His commandments. (Psalm 91) There is peace, power, and protection. The secret is in the vine. As we abide in Jesus, His very life flows through us. (John 15) God has revealed this mystery to His children. Which is “Christ in you the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:26-27).

Fourth – THIS SECRET POWER was taught by Jesus. “But you, when you pray, go into your room and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you openly” (Matthew 6:5-15 NKJV). (John 15:16)

Fifth – THE SECRETS OF THE LORD are revealed to His friends. “Greater love has no one than to lay down one’s life for His friends. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things I heard from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:13-17) NKJV).

The real Abraham was called a friend of God. God revealed His plans to bless all nations through Abraham’s seed. By faith and obedience you can be a friend of God. The Savior calls, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).
