Are All Religions Equally Valid?

America is a very religious society. In Post Modern America, most people believe all religions are equally valid. They believe there are as many gods (pluralism) as man wishes to invent for himself, with no one god being superior. As long as you do not say there is only one way to eternal life or heaven, our post modern society will accept you. They consider god to be a development of one’s culture, a manufactured god; thus, one god is as good as another and we are told that we must not say there is only one God. They do not accept any objective standard for truth. Truth is subjective, something to be manufactured by each individual and what is true today many not be true tomorrow (relativism). Post modern society accepts almost anything, except they do not believe that there are any absolute truths. They dismiss Jehovah God as being just one of many gods.

The God of the Bible is an unknown God to many in today’s post modern America. Although Jehovah God has revealed himself to man through the Bible, he remains an unknown God, because man would rather decide who God is, than to read and believe what God has said about himself in the Bible. We must proclaim as in Acts 17:24, 26-28 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands”. “From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being.” We are told by God to not think God is an image made by man’s design and skill. In past times God overlooked man’s ignorance, but he now commands all men everywhere to repent. Since he has revealed his complete will to man through the Bible, and he has spoken in these last days by his Son, he tells us in Acts 17:31-32, “For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.”

The historic facts of Jesus are well documented. Jesus’ death and resurrection are historical events witnessed by men who wrote down what they saw. When the evidence is examined, the Bible emerges as being what it claims to be, the revelation of the one and only God of the universe. Post modern America does not believe the Bible to be the word of God. They do not believe in Jehovah God, nor do they believe Jesus is the only way to God.

We must proclaim Jehovah God and Jesus his Son to the world, a world that no longer wants to admit or believe there is only one God of the Universe. Neither do they want to believe that the only way to God is through his Son. We must proclaim God to America with firm conviction and loving understanding. We must proclaim that we have a superior message for post modern America. It is one they do not want to hear, but desperately need to hear and believe. If we do this, God’s word will convict men of their sins and turn their hearts to God. Mankind has ignored God’s word, but the word has not lost any of its power. Heb 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of men.” We need to heed a call to renew our efforts to teach the gospel for, among all religions, it is truly the only good news for mankind. Yes, America is religious, but it is not religion that saves men, hearing and obeying the gospel of Jesus Christ is what saves men.
